IFC is the open standard for BIM (building information models), the emerging standard for architectural building data.

Ifcopenshell provides cli commands IfcConvert, IfcGeomserver and ifcopenshell prython3 bindings and ifc import addon for blender

The swig lib is necessary for the python3 bindings and the blender addon.  Work is being done to port it to swig4, but it has no priority as most distros still provide swig3.
