In practice, `$REFIND_CONF` will *never* be empty, but just in case something goes unexpectedly wrong (suppose `readlink` is not found or executable, for example), we just want to give up. Yeah, I think in practice, `$REFIND_CONF` will never be empty. We can just clean up the montrosity below it. I'll look if I can come up with something simple.
