I think this is to be expected and is not a change in behavior from previous versions. Hmm very strange, it does autostart for me by default... I think it works via a `dbus` call made by `pam_elogind.so` after any login, be it tty or graphical. Do you have the `dbus` service enabled? Did you change your pam config maybe?
