There is an updated pull request by TinfoilSubmarine against master on the void-packages repository

Updating because latest version can successfully build C extension again. I had to patch out one test due to a segfault when testing in the chroot, but running the test in question on my machine succeeds. Not sure if I should file an issue about that here or in the package's upstream repo...
A patch file from https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/33744.patch is attached
