It seems like it'd be possible to cross between x86-64 and i686; I was able to get `dmd2.091` to produce an i686 `dmd` executable, but the build systems for all 3 projects (dmd itself, druntime and libphobos) aren't very receptive of the concept that host dmd and target dmd aren't the same thing, so I get the feeling it'd require a good few patches (unless I'm failing to see something). Overall, doubt it'd be worth maintaining.
