See https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/pull/112. The kernel is patched to all hell in that repo. I've recently taken a more conservative approach. Furthermore their kernel targets multiple devices and SoCs, whereas this kernel is only intended for the PBP (and perhaps some other rk3399 devices). Bumping the patch version for the kernel can be done as needed. That libdrm patch seems... odd. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish there.
