@Johnnynator Excuse me for pinging, mister, I *think* that, since you're the last to have committed to `vlc`, you may be able to help. 
Could you please read this thread, and help us with a solution (If any are possible)? I have exhausted my ideas here, and I don't think to have been superficial.
