Updating didn't help. The `olm` version used is packed in `element-desktop`, and manually installing latest `olm` from the repositories doesn't make Element use it (the version info in settings still showed the previous version).

Downgrading to 1.11.35 that changed nothing.  
Downgrading to 1.11.24 (released in February, before I was having this problem) also did not fix the issue, but changed the warnings printed to terminal. Clearly, something else regarding my system is causing this issue -- something that changed within the last 3 months.
