New comment by Duncaen on void-packages repository https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/45381#issuecomment-1704228322 Comment: I would generally stick with what upstream does, which is to use `/etc`. `mutable_files` basically just disables `xbps-pkgdb` hash checks for the specified, package updates will still overwrite them. This is generally not useful for most packages and the manual description should be more clear about it. Its more likely to be used for things that are self updating and not to allow the user to make changes as opposed to configuration files.
