I think the name of this package is quite confusing, and will be even more confusing if OpenSSH ever *does* release a v3.

They are currently considering clarifying their messaging, see here:

The software is also extremely alpha... they seem to have had their first release, 0.1.0, last week. Might be good to just build from source for now and let upstream get things in a more stable state before packaging in the repos.
