Plasma 5 LTS is still being supported, and in my case needed as there are several breaking bugs in Plasma 6 (broken sleep, broken touchpad disable/scaling and HiDPI issues) that are unlikely to get fixed in the near term.

maintaining two plasmas versions is very difficult
plasma 6 is getting bug fixed
you can report bugs here, if they are confirmed, can be reported upstream
