Proposed solution is to allow Julia to vendor in its own libgit2 (blah) until something like https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/pull/35233 is merged and released; it's either that or carry a relatively large patch for julia. I'm waiting to do so because the release of julia 1.4.2 is imminent, so I can just do both at the same time.
