Description:
As the title says, can we have some beta package support? (might need some changes in xbps as well, so to interpret `-rc{x}` or `-alpha{x}` or any subversion with a hyphen to be a beta package and package without that be its stable version).

No, thought you are free to run repository containing such versions. Xbps already understands that 1 < 2alpha < 2, so packages would get updated switching between official and custom repos.

@Chocimier Actually we had some misunderstanding, I was just expecting to have something like patch file alongside the template and an option in xbps-src to apply that patch to the template and build the latest version of the beta package, not to have the binary distributions of it available in the hosted repositories :eyes:

Ok, misunderstood.
We are not going to merge beta versions or patches in templates repository either. There is enough of work to do with managing stable versions.
