There is a new pull request by paper42 against master on the void-packages repository
https://github.com/paper42/void-packages remove/escrotum
https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/40072
escrotum: remove package
* uses python2, there is a newer python3 version available, but it has been without a release for 2 years and has multiple important fixes in master
If someone wants to maintain this package, test it and backport the necessary patches from master, feel free to do so and we can keep the package. We are almost the only distribution that ships this package, it's only in Nix and AUR otherwise.
A patch file from https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/40072.patch is attached
