The 7.x branch of pnpm is no longer maintained (according to https://pnpm.io/versions), and I couldn't find any reasons to not switch to the 8.x branch. 
pnpm 8 dropped support for nodejs 14, but since we're already using nodejs 16 that shouldn't be an issue.


A patch file from https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/44165.patch is attached
