hey there, thanks for responding! i'm guessing that the installer is ran via terminal? or inside it? to conferm, gnome-orca is not on the live mate iso, so unless it could be added, I will not be able to joine you, could it be added? Majid Hussain <mhussaincov93@gmail.com> writes: > i'm guessing that the installer is ran via terminal? > or inside it? Yes, the installer is run from the terminal. The installer is an ncurses-like text interface. It doesn't make use of a GUI, so even if Orca came on the ISO, it could not be used with the installer. (Unless i'm misunderstanding Orca's capabilities.) > to conferm, gnome-orca is not on the live mate iso, > so unless it could be added, I will not be able to joine you, > could it be added? If you need Orca for the install process in particular, then the preceding applies. If you don't necessarily need Orca for the install process, but need it more generally, then even though it doesn't come with the ISO, you could still easily install it after installation by running: # xbps-install gnome-orca If you want to create your own live ISO containing MATE and Orca, follow the instructions at: https://github.com/void-linux/void-mklive That's probably also the place to request that Orca be made available on the live ISOs by default. So Orca can function even if there's no GUI running? Orca can be run from the Linux console? > i'll luck at that link, > does that image maker utility function on debian like distros? > it is what i'm currently running? It depends on XBPS, so if your specific distro doesn't provide that as a package, you'll need to compile that yourself. (Checking https://packages.debian.org/stable/allpackages?format=txt.gz, it doesn't seem to be available on Buster, for example.) XBPS is available from https://github.com/void-linux/xbps.
