Hi,
I had this fixed once, but I have lost what I did. How do I get a
Solaris 2.5.1 system to reconize zsh as a valid shell for ftping to
the account?
Thank you for your time and attention.

Put it in the file /etc/shells. You might need to create
the file (it doesn't exist by default).
Ours looks like this
/bin/sh
/bin/csh
/bin/ksh
/usr/bin/sh
/usr/bin/csh
/usr/bin/ksh
/sbin/sh
/usr/local/bin/tcsh
/usr/local/bin/bash
/usr/local/bin/zsh
rc
