sorry, the correct version should be:

  #!/bin/sh
  
  if [ -z "$ZSH_VERSION" ]; then
      ## searching PATH for zsh executable
      exec zsh $0 $*

      ## no zsh detected
      exit 1 
  fi

   ## zsh should be running now. do zsh stuff
  print "hello"
