How to define "META-CONTROL-Character" ?

How to define "META-CONTROL-Character" ?

I would like to bind accept-and-menu-complete to META-RETURN. But the
following doesn't seem to work:

"\M-\C-M"
"\M\CM"
"\M^M"
"\C-\M-M"

and so on 

Any idea?

It doesn't look to me like xterm is handling it.  If I type ^V before,
it just appears as an ordinary ^M. "\e\r" worked fine, though.
