I sent a message to this audience last week, but haven't heard anything. 
Is this a one-way list? Is there a better mechanism for my query?

It's not a "one-way list," but there was an assumption that since you
didn't say otherwise, you were a subscriber.  The response went only to
the list, without a direct copy to you.  Here it is again:

Thanks. I thought zsh-workers was for maintainers of zsh, not just 
satisfied customers like myself...
