You only get the warning on compilation. If it didn't get linked properly, then any attempt to use it causes the crash as you saw. It's surprisingly hard to notice since a lot of modules (especially the zle ones) don't issue warnings. The vared one is probably the most obvious. -- Peter Stephenson <pws@csr.com> Software Engineer CSR Ltd., Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WH, UK Tel: +44 (0)1223 692070 ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. I've committed it, since it's harmless, but someone needs to characterise this and tell Cygwin. I couldn't see any reports on the cygwin mailing list. I'll send an initial mail. -- Peter Stephenson <pws@csr.com> Software Engineer CSR Ltd., Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WH, UK Tel: +44 (0)1223 692070 ********************************************************************** The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. If so, it's not just me and it should be reported. You should be able to see warnings about trying to import zwarnnam as a data symbol. It seems that the last symbol in the export list is not scanned properly by dlltool. My simple-minded workaround is to add another one even later. (Remake until the warnings go away. I'm not sure if the dependencies are quite up to this.)
