Of course runshfunc() doesn't call comp_setunset(), so I guess this
may be one of those VARARR() problems which messes up the stack. I'll
have a look.

... but it only does so occassionally so it is really very hard to track

This problem only appears every now and then, but I can't see the
reason. Is this a known bug?
