Here's the failures:
Test ./07cond.ztst failed: bad status 1, expected 0 from:
[[ -r zerolength && ! -r unmodish ]]
Was testing: -r cond
./07cond.ztst: test failed.

Test ./54compmatch.ztst failed: output differs from expected as shown above for:

comptest $'tst bui\t\t\t'
Was testing: Bug from workers 11081
./54compmatch.ztst: test failed.
System is a Sun Ultra 30 running Solaris 7 with current patches:
% uname -a
SunOS irmavep 5.7 Generic_106541-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-30
% gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/specs
gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
LD_LIBRARY_PATH was unset so no /usr/ucb interactions (I hope!), zsh built
using './configure ; make ; make test'. I am not subscribed to the list.
Thanks,

Running 'make test' as a normal user does not change the results.

Hmm. Well, it's a pretty good bet that it's the [[ ! -r unmodish ]]
test that's failing. Can you try it by hand?
Src/zsh -fs <<EOF
umask 077
touch unmodish
chmod 000 unmodish
[[ -r unmodish ]] && ls -l unmodish
EOF
This should of course produce no output; if it produces an "ls" listing
please mail it to the list.

Certainly; this ran and produced no output.
I've tried rebuilding the source as a normal user with a cleaned environment
(no LD_LIBRARY_PATH, no /usr/ucb), and the unmodish test now passes. On the
other hand, 54compmatch.ztst still fails.

This works cleanly for me (except for the well-known -N test problem,
but that is tested after -r). Hm didn't we have a report about -r some
time ago? Can't remember.

This, too, works fine for me (and we had some patches for compmatch.c
after 3.1.9).
Bye
