You must have a different version of texi2html, since mine doesn't generate
that, but the following should be a safe fix in any case.

You must have pretty old version.

bor@itsrm2% texi2html --version
1.64
bor@itsrm2% ll zsh.html
-rw-r--r-- 1 bor sinix 20737 Jun 28 17:21 zsh.html

Actually, older versions produce buggy html files, so if it the same version
you use for generating zsh-doc you may consider upgrading it.

Anybody knows if texi2html is still supported/developed? Home page was not
updated for almost a year and CVS repository is broken:

bor@itsrm2% cvs up
? doc/texinfo.tex
cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository
`/usr/local/Singular/cvsroot/Texi2html': Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository
`/usr/local/Singular/cvsroot/Texi2html'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up

It doesn't look like it. Yodl also doesn't look like it has had any
development for a year and a half.

Does anyone have any idea about this error which I get from `makeinfo
--html' using the zsh.texi in 4.0.2 and texinfo 4.0.

zsh.texi:68: warning: @menu seen before first @node, creating `Top'
node.
zsh.texi:68: warning: perhaps your @top node should be wrapped in
@ifnottex rather than @ifinfo?.
./zsh.texi:68: Next field of node `Top' not pointed to.
./zsh.texi:324: This node (Author) has the bad Prev.

I don't have the latest texinfo, but maybe we just do what the man says.
Does this help?

I am using the same texi2html you use:

~$ rpm -qf =texi2html
tetex-1.0.7-15
~$ texi2html --version
1.64

This is the newest ResHat Linux 7.1.

It helped but I still got:
zsh.texi:61: @top used before @node, defaulting to The Z Shell Manual.

With a slight further change it worked without complaint though. This
results in the following patch against CVS for manual.yo:

Here's a complete patch; it doesn't work too well with older texinfo (not
quite sure what was going on since running tex worked fine but running
texi2dvi failed), so I've put a note in the README file. For that reason I
don't think I'll put this in 4.0.
