to me this make no sense.  on a real video monitor i understand
interlacing, but how is it i can choose 1024x768 LCD and then i
get to choose '1024x768, interlaced'.

my real problem is this LCD RAGE ATI card/display that has
these wide [2cm] verticle rectangles which are just not 'part' of
the display.

does this make sense to anyone?
