warning: only relation to Plan 9 is historical:
i'm a fan of the Mistery Science Theatre 3000 show and from time to
time get to watch an episode of two. it's a lesson in movie
appreciation (or depreciation, depending on the point of view)
anyway, if you're unfamiliar with MST3k here's a short (albeit
fanboy-ish) description of the show and what it tries to accomplish:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MST3K
the concept is as follows: the guy and the two robots sitting in the
audience (shadowing the film) are commenting on it, adding their own
dialogue and generally making fun of it.
the stuff i watched today started with a preview made by the Bell
Telephone Company, introducing their newest telephone inventions in
the 50's or 60's... i thought it'll be nice to show other 9fans what
the future was promised to be. given the commentary by mike and the
robots it only gets funnier.
mplayer should have no problem playing this in lunix, but beware --
it's 106mb.

No, but I was enlightened about the basic requirement for writing java applets.
If you missed it, just forward 4 minutes 15 seconds into the movie. ;)
