I've asked my hardware supplier to arrange a Symbios SCSI controller
compatible with Plan 9 (and with the rather dated 9.1Gig drives I have
inherited) and he has found it difficult to source something in South
Africa.

As he also found the symbios web site unresponsive, does anyone have
some suggestions on a reliable source for one such adapter?

Sorry to bug the list for something somewhat off topic, but I doubt
I'd get better advice anywhere else.

There isn't a fossil kernel, its just a program that runs on
a normal kernel.

As it should be.

It looks like someone may be reproducing some of the Symbios line (or at
least reusing the chipset):

Don't know about availability, but you can always try your luck.

The usual answer these days is Tekram. Check the data sheets, as not all
their products
are symbios based. Don't forget that symbios are owned by lsilogic these
days.
