this is a topic often discussed in 9fans. in short -- get used to it (most of us have
and have no complaints).
for the long answer you may want to check the archives. you'll find a script or
two that give you some similar capabilities to bash' 'history', a prolonged and thorough
flamewar on how faster using the mouse is, some editor preferences and so on...
my personal opinion -- i've gotten used to the p9 way so much i actually find vi and
the unix shell slower..
some others (hi, dean:) have moved all the text editing to p9 -- importing unix files
via u9fs and editing them with acme.
if you can be converted to the p9 way, i'd say you need no more than a week or two to
get used to it. considerably less than the time needed to master vi...
