While installing a new CPU server today I managed to botch setting up the
auth server side of things. Having tried a couple of things unsuccessfully
I would like to just blow away everything auth-server related and start
again. Does anyone have a cookbook recipe for doing this, or will it be
easier to just reinstall the server from scratch?

And regarding the install ... following the wiki instructions on adding
auth support to a cpu server, it seems necessary to add bootes to the adm
group, else auth/changeuser fails with permission denied errors on files
in /adm. Did I miss something along the way, or is the wiki out of date.
(Sorry, but I'm at home right now, so I can't reproduce the exact error
messages.) I ended up adding bootes to the adm group, which let me
complete the setup, but I never did get auth working properly. I'll try
again tomorrow with a clean installation I guess.

Things sure have changed since 3rd edition :-)

the cheater's way is to disable auth until you can get it working like
"flag noauth" (fs) or fossil -A.
