Is there anyone using lp to print to a Laser printer
(not postscript) hunging on a Solaris 2.x machine?

When I tried this, I've got an error like:

failed to receive ACK, received <0x62> insted
failed to receive ACK, before sending data.

Thanks Russ, and, now, I can make print from Plan 9 system to
a Canon Laser printer on a Solaris 2.4 server. First, I tried Solaris's
native lp system, which I've been using, but failed to manage it.
Then, I replaced it by lprng-3.2.1 by P. Powell with sources.

Only one thing to note, I have to use fully qualified machine address
for client machine.

Forsyth has a bsdlp package on his web page o' Plan9 software,
I believe. I've been using it for quite some time and it works well.

The only problem you might have is if you try to print to some
really old machines that actually require you to be coming from
a TCP port in the range 730-740 (or something like that). None
of the new software requires this anymore; Linux or a recent
Solaris should be just fine.

Well, I'm now reading many scripts for lp, and got confused much.
I asked the question of titled above previously, and got no answer.
Now, I know that the protocol of lp in Plan 9 is very different from
that of lpd/lpr of BSDs. Plan 9's lp daemon can accept print request
from it, I know.

Now, I'd like to change my question how I can print out
my document to a printer which hangs on BSD/Linux box
or Solaris 2.x or any others. Did anyone try it?
