That commentary was never finished (not even close), never
distributed, even within the labs, and referred to such an early
version (1989) of the kernel that it's valueless today.  John didn't
have enough time to learn the details of the system during the brief
visit he made here.  His goal was indeed a follow-on to the v6 books,
but the goal was not achieved.  The one or two copies that remain
today do not stand as a fitting tribute to his memory.

Hi,

        I read that John Lions wrote a commentary on Plan9 (which was
distributed within bell labs), kind of what he did w/ unix. Would it
be possible to get the commentary if you already got the license?

It would be great
