He wrote one on Plan 9 as well, however it is not distributed.

judging from previous postings on this list, lions did write a commentary on
a very old edition of p9... unfortunately this is extremely outdated.. 

if you are looking for a commentary on plan9, someone is spain has a very
good one which covers the latest release 3. just check past postings for it.

i am sure people in bell-labs will be able to give you more insight on
lions' old commentaries (both V6 and p9) though :)

I would have let this one by but as the spirit of the great Jimi was
invoked I feel compelled to reply.

Here's what appeared on the list last time this came up:

	No.  Even for the very very early version of the system it described,
	it was incomplete and somewhat confused.  John was really looking
	for a new version of the Unix kernel and didn't find it. I'm not sure
	if any copies exist, but if they do, I still wouldn't distribute them.
	They are a poor description of the system and an unworthy legacy for
	for John Lions.
