The VMware driver is for an AMD 97C970.
I don't know how different the 97C960 would be.

Sadly, I suspect the 960 is an ISA device (the 970 is a PCI one):
the host I'm hoping to use has no PCI slots. I'll look around
while waiting for non-insomniacs <grin> to get out of bed.

Does a driver for AMD 97C960 Ethernet adapter exist? Isn't it the
one needed by VMware?
If no luck, any suggestions on the shortest route to such a driver
from one of the existing ones (even 2nd Edition, if necessary)?
Thank you.

PS: I want to turn an oldish 486SX box into a dial-in router with
as many serial ports as I can squeeze into it (4 initially, 8 once
I get the 6-port BOCA adapter going). Any gotchas I ought to be
aware of? Is lack of the floating point unit going to be an issue?
