do you have this:
norelay on #turn off relaying
in your /mail/lib/smtpd.conf?
smtpd looks for such relaying cases,
for exactly the reason you cite (random
self-appointed smtp sheriffs rather than
real spammers).

so ordb.org complains about my cpu server being an open
relay. it's tricking upas with an address of the form:
marvin@marvin.ordb.org@[64.7.3.116]
(where the IP at the end is me). i'm tempted to simply
rip out the foo@bar@baz routing, but i'd like to leave
it in if anyone's already dealt with this in a more
"civilized" manner. any pointers?
