My ATI rageII was finally accepted by the system after i added this line
to my vgadb:
0xC00E6="MACH64GUPCIM"                          # FINDME

yay! we got graphics now.... kinda.

Once i get into graphic mode, the screen is split vertically into 3
panels, each one exactly like the other,
displaying what should be on the left third of the screen.
Interestingly, there is only one mouse cursor displayed, and it can move
freely around the entire screen, with it,
I can grab edges of windows (where the edges would be if the screen was
drawn properly) and resize them.

Any thoughts on what this is all about, or how to fix it?

brent
