I'm looking to the updates from plan9.bell-labs.com/plan9dist, and can't
see clearly which ones I have to install.

Supposing I downloaded the main OS .9gz three days ago, which updates
should I install, in which order? Or are the updates included in the
main distribution?

shoot, i sent my message just before this one arrived... thanks for
the updates!

as for the new 8c -- i'm already oozing with saliva:

with the old compiler "cd /sys/src && mk all" gives:

	Thu May 13 13:30:26 MDT 2004
	Thu May 13 13:37:29 MDT 2004

then i did a mk install, recompiled the kernel with the newly compiled
fossil and rebooted. "cd /sys/src && mk all" now gives:

	Thu May 13 13:47:19 MDT 2004
	Thu May 13 13:52:14 MDT 2004

both compiles completed successfuly

about the setup: fossil has a cache of 10000 blocks, machine is a
single cpu 2.6Ghz Pentium IV, 512MB ram and two IDE disks behind a
devfs mirror.

i've pushed out a bunch of updates to sources that had
been sitting around for a while. it's possible i missed
some dependancies so mail 9trouble if you find anything
amiss. thanks to brucee for the vlong optimised 8c.

Awk is fixed. Thanks to Kenji Arisawa for pointing
out the bug. (The UTF support there is not often
exercised.)

Tcs and upas/fs now have support for Latin-9
(ISO-8859-15). Thanks to Aki Nyrhinen for the code.

If you just installed, you got the March 27, 2001 package,
the most recent one. Any of the updates that occur on the
above that package on the description page are not included.
The order in which you update does not matter.

Russ
