Can you send a screen shot?
What resolution are you trying?
What if you try a lower resolution?
Full screen mode?
Windowed mode?

I'm trying to run plan 9 on linux over vmware. I've tried the
vmware.tar.bz2 image and various floppy installs. The mouse pointer is
fine, but the display is crunched to the top of third of the screen,
with 6 copies of 8 1/2 all unreadable.
I'm running XFree86 4.1 at 1600x1200x24 with a P815 monitor and a ATI
Rage 128 graphics card.
Any suggestions?
