been there, done that. j'en ai marre ...

i think nemo did some stuff with it:

    http://plan9.escet.urjc.es

i did some 3rd Ed stuff with it, but ... it's on a cd somewhere.

the other problem is that the 9p2000 changed the dev interface, so _if_
i find it, it's still some work.

Hello There,

I'm (very) new to Plan9 and have install it pretty smoothly
on my 10G HD Laptop along with OpenBSD and FreeBsd
and before having to read the 806 pages from the Programmer's
Manual Vol. 1, I would appreciated if someone put me in the right
direction on how to change the default US keyboard map to
my French keyboard map at boot time if this is possible.

Merci beaucoup.
Philippe.

It would be good to have util showing flag of the country
which language is using (i.e. what map is switched
in given moment of the time), something like Window Maker's
nonlock. The flags can be taken from /lib/face/48x48x8/u.

Beware : the initialy released FR keyboard had to be reworked.

Nemo has the final version that works for any key / char.

the alternate kbd driver with maps is at sources under /nemo.
Just pull or copy the files that change and recompile your kernel.
If you need help, drop me a line. I've been offline for a whole month
and the source in /n/sources/nemo may be old; I'll check that.
