I moved a hard drive on which I've installed Plan9 on to another
computer, and thus the boot disk prompts me for the disk!part!kernel
instead of booting up directly. I am aware of which disk to use, and
if I remember right 'a' is the correct partition. But what is the
default kernel to use with this boot, from default installation?

You'll want to say something like sdC0!9fat!9pcdisk.
IDE drives are sdC0 where C is primary master, D
primary slave, E and F secondary.

The scsi drives are sdXY where X is the controller
and Y the target, I think.
