Do you use the distribution from sources?
The older i810 is only for LCD, where some parameters are
assumed to be set correctly by the machine's BIOS.
The i810 driver in the sources will work for your setting.

that's because you have no graphics...

i installed Plan 9 4th Edition.

i have i810 Chipset and samtron 40Bn(14" SVGA) montior.
the default resolution was 640x480x8.
when i continue, the screen goes blank.
for this i gave simply 80x25x2 and that gave an error message and went to
text mode.
can't i use graphics mode ??

also after installing, i cannot find vi. is there any other to edit files.

in usr directory only glenda is there.
is there no user called root ??

also during installation, one error message like cannot find $wsys during
copying distribution occured but installation continued. what is this error
??
