it'd be good if you could type something.
presumably the prompt is achilles# not achilles:
(sharp not colon).
try typing ^t^tp (that's ctl-t, ctl-t, (non-ctl) p)
to dump a process list; perhaps it will provide a clue.

im getting stuck booting the cpu server...
Does anyone know where the authsrv.il566 and authsrv.tcp567 files are?
After i install the distribution they are not there instead i end up
creating them, typing two lines in each.
is this correct????
is this what is causing my system to hang on bootup?

the last update unfortunately deleted those two files, which
makes the instructions hard to follow.
on our running system, we've got the following in /rc/bin/service.auth:
/rc/bin/service.auth/il566:
#!/bin/rc
/bin/auth/auth.srv -d $3
/rc/bin/service.auth/tcp567
#!/bin/rc
/bin/auth/auth.srv -d $3
make sure to chmod a+rx so that they're executable.

Sorry to bother you all again. Ok, problem when we reboot the cpu
server. We get
tag = <badtag>; expected Tfile
tag = <badtag>; expected Tfile
init: starting /bin/rc
/sys/log/cron: rc: can't open
achilles:
and then you can't type anything anymore. Rio has been disabled
also. What is this problem? How can we get around it. We disabled rio by
not binding '#m' in the cpurc file.
This prompt at the end is mind boggling since we can't type anything, but
we can ctrl-alt-delete
Thanks in advance
