I was able to compile the port correctly. It comes out
that gcc-3.4.4 was configured on lab machines with gnu-as
that had problems with SunOS.s file (syntax errors etc.).
Once it was compiled with /usr/ccs/bin/as the rest of the
compilation completed correctly.
