As you might have guessed, that response didn't go with the attached message.
I was asking whether the slow connect to the BSD vncserver was due to
BSD trying to verify the address of the connecting machine.

I have no way to tell as the vncserver/viewer are available as a
pre-compiled package. Is there a way to figure it out?

snoop the ether and see what calls are going out.
