Subject: [9fans] Problem with Authentication in pppoe
Date: Tue, 8 Oct 2002 16:30:50 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.44.0210081621300.6652-100000@eduard.t-online.de> (raw)

I really need help for the following problem:

I am using the ip/pppoe command for calling my provider. The d option
shows that progress is made until it comes to authentication. Then it
fails either after some retries or with some rather cryptic messages
concerning a test user? My username and password should be ok for I am
using it on other systems with success.

Now my username contains about 40 digits and letters, with # and @ in
between. (This name is given by the provider and cannot be changed) Do I
have do protect these signs with a backslash? Is the string
to long? Any help would be appreciated.
