I'm pitching several Plan 9 related ideas for summer internship
projects at our lab. Projects would definately involve working with
9P, hypervisors, v9fs, and doing operating systems work. Internships
here typically run for 3-4 months starting sometime in May and
wrapping up by September (but this is somewhat flexible). We'd be
looking for graduate students with some Plan 9 or Inferno background
to fill the positions. If you are interested, send me a resume and/or
feel free to ask any questions.

hmm, eric, that's a great idea, and so I will pitch one internship too
here at LANL.

But: you gotta really know Plan 9, there is no time for on-the-job
training. The work can be on Plan 9, or on implementing a Plan 9 idea on
Linux (I would like to have 'cpu' for example, now that we have v9fs).

email to me.

having been to both NY and NM. I'd have to say New Mexico is WAY prettier.

Plus LANL has the distinct advantage of being very close to Bandelier
National Monument.

Absolutely gorgeous landscape. I love visiting LANL :).

I live in the Seattle area... they've got a Starbucks in the bathroom
of Starbucks.

Yup, I was in Santa Fe over the holidays and although it *was*
uncharacteristically cold it was just as nice and relaxing as I'd
remembered it.

Oh yea, besides Starbucks there's the Guadalupe Cafe next to the capital
building. You'd be hard pressed to find a better sweet roll (just get
there before 9AM ;)

no walmart, too bad, that's down the hill ... we're almost civilized now!
You're not allowed to drink and drive any more!

Yes, it used to be legal something like 15 years back.

What a crazy state this is.
