Hello!

I tried hard to run plan9 in a lot of virtual machines and every time it
fails. After detecting hard disks/cdrom, the host CPU goest to 99% and
stays there. It is a known bug? Any workaround?
What options to remove from kernel?

Thank you very much!

Thanks!
On vmware I removed cdrom support and seems that is working (still 80%
host cpu eat).

But what about qemu & bochs?
I don't really like vmware...

Bochs is hopeless (no real gfx support and painfully slow).
QEmu seems to work in Linux. On Windows it is very flakey.

Do you run plan9 under qemu?

I tried under Win XP but it was unusable.
People have reported here that under Linux it's nice, tho.

Qemu works but it requires a recent change to the
Qemu source that entered their tree in early December
to get the disk working. There is a note in the archives
containing the patch.

Yes, it works but takes 99% cpu when "talking" with disk.
I used qemu 0.6.1 and now the one from CVS.

Thanks!
