Hello!

I tried to make plan9 to work under qemu and seems thare are some
problems with the ne2000 driver (8390 to be more exact).

Can you share your success stories with plan9 with a ne2000 hardware card?

Seems that I found one error in the driver and I want to know if it works
with a hardware driver.

Thank you very much!

P.S. I will come later with more info about the bug.

I have used ne2000' before with success.

Perhaps what you need is nodummyrr in plan9.ini,
here is the relevant snippet from the manual page.

	ne2000
Not software configurable. 16-bit card. Defaults are
			port=0x300 irq=2 mem=0x04000 size=0x4000
The option (no value) nodummyrr is needed on some
(near) clones to turn off a dummy remote read in the
		driver.

Well I think I've got a WD80[01]3 floating around here somewhere...

anyway... can't you still get bastardised PCI cards which are a
NE200 at heart?

that's more what i was wondering, not whether people
had old ISA ne2000s in a box somewhere

If you mean a cardboard box, I think we do. If you mean
in a running system that still has ISA, I don't think we do.
Our last system with ISA was the last SCSI Ken fs we ran.
Long replaced by ATA drives.
