those two people violated the Cultural Neutrality Act for Jokes, and have
been appropriately punished. This is a new EU regulation regarding
sensitivity to any and all objects of jokes, up to and including people
who work on dead operating systems.

The reference is to an old, old 50s pop song in the US

met him on a sunday and my heart went boom
da do ron ron ron da do ron ron
blah blah blah blah blah forget the rest
da do ron ron ron da do ron ron

yeah, when he caught my eye
blah, ya da bla bla forget
da do ron ron ron da do ron ron

etc.

it should also be noted that in the EU, 'ronron' is the snoring noise made
by fat gaulish menhir workers ...

no, the infinitive is 'ronfler'.

'ronronner' is to purr [like a cat].

Hmm. It's all very rock and roll, but The 'Stones would
not be the band that came to mind. It was The Crystals,
and of course written by Phil Spector. A hit in the
UK in '63.

Your midi compliant Plan 9 web browser can play it here
as you sing along, but it lacks the feel of the Wall of Sound.

I shall be voting in favour of a local derrogation from
the Cultural Neutrality Act for Jokes in the forthcoming
referendum, and am glorying in my outlaw status.

Excellent! It's now working happily. Now my biggest challenge
is finding the time to compile a fossil kernel and set thing up
so that I can run with the same file system I use when booting
directly.

Speaking of booting directly, has anyone by any chance done a
driver for the Broadcom Tigon3 Ethernet controller? That's
what's in this new laptop.

Thanks,
Brian L. Stuart

I have Plan9 running in Xen. (Thanks for the pointer to the images on
sources. I ended up pulling them down using an instance running in
qemu. Ain't virtualization fun?) Anyway, after changing the bootes
password as instructed in the archives I am getting the "dreaded"
cannot authenticate with p9 message from drawterm. auth/debug
and /sys/log/auth both seem to be fine on the xen instance of Plan9.
I was able to successfully drawterm to a file server machine at home
last night, which brings up a question about /dev/draw on a machine
with an unsupported video card. (But that's a question for another day.)
So why can't I drawterm into the Plan9 instance on Xen?

Thanks,
Brian L. Stuart
