A L*nux kit for the Playstation 2 was released in the US
in the last week of May. I bought one last week and
have ported Research Inferno to the PS2. This involved
not using L*nux much at all - all the development was with
Plan9 tools and a boot image was copied over to the RAM card.
(Exception: when dhog ran Midnight Commander on it and I
nearly lost my lunch.)
The intention is to use the PS2 as a fun set-top box and
also as a slick aux framebuffer for a Plan9 or Inferno machine.
Still work to do - drivers to write, stuff to tune.
I might do a Plan9 port or maybe pb will do it.
Send me some mail if you are thinking of doing PS2 work
(I don't read this mailing list).
