When you install the pc distribution and log in as glenda, you
are thrown into acme with your home directory, an rc window,
an email window and a short documentation. However, the rc does
not have an alias for "cd" installed to run "awd" when the directory
changes:
fn cd { builtin cd $1 && awd $sysname }
which makes using the "rc" window in acme so much more useful.
I personally didn't learn about this until much later because
I had based my startup on glendas. I'm sure other new users would
benefit if this was added during glenda's startup somewhere.
